Donald Trump shares whether Trump Jr. has presidential ambitions and discusses his kids’ political paths

Donald Trump Weighs In: Could Trump Jr. Run for President?

Donald Trump recently addressed whether his son, Donald Trump Jr., might pursue a presidential run. During an appearance on the Pod Force One podcast, hosted by New York Post journalist Miranda Devine, Trump opened up about his children’s potential political futures.

Don Jr.’s Political Engagement

Throughout Trump’s last presidential campaign, Don Jr. remained highly vocal in his support. He also reportedly pushed for J.D. Vance as a vice presidential pick. Beyond the campaign trail, he hosts Triggered with Don Jr., a biweekly political podcast.

Still, the question lingers—does he have presidential ambitions?

Trump Responds: “I Don’t Know”

When asked directly, Trump replied,

“I don’t know. I think all of them probably have a future in politics, frankly. And Don is very good. A good guy. He’s an outdoorsman.”

Although he praised Don Jr., Trump stopped short of confirming any plans.

Trump Jr. Has His Own Take

Trump Jr. already addressed the issue on X (formerly Twitter), writing:

“While I’ll never 100% rule it out down the line, I have ZERO interest in running for office in 2028 or anytime soon.”

His firm stance may explain his father’s reluctance to commit to a clear answer.

Praise for All His Children

Rather than focus solely on Don Jr., Trump took the opportunity to praise all of his children:

“Eric has done a fantastic job. Barron is great. He is very tall and good. Ivanka—she’s so great. And Tiffany has done really well. She went to a great law school and did very well. Always a good student.”

Spotlight on Barron Trump

At just 19, Barron Trump has drawn public attention, not only for his height—he stands at 6’7”—but also for his academic path. He now studies at NYU’s prestigious Stern School of Business.

Speaking to Fox News in March, Trump said:

“If you look at my kids, they’ve been very good. Very smart. They love our country and they’re proud of their father.”

A Tech-Savvy Teen

Asked whether Barron leans more toward politics or business, Trump highlighted something else entirely—his son’s tech skills.

He recalled a moment, saying:

“I turned off his laptop, and five minutes later, it was back on. I asked, ‘How’d you do that?’
He said, ‘None of your business, Dad.’
He’s got an unbelievable aptitude in technology.”
